Our Program > Hockey Hall of Fame Diversity in Hockey Program

Our Program

As historians, a key task is to uncover stories and individuals that deal with diversity from all perspectives -- through the lens of gender, race, language, religion, sexual orientation or physical disability – to ensure that no groups or communities remain marginalized within the diversity movement. Only through this process can we fully examine and identify the core elements that either hinder or foster inclusivity, thereby leaving no one behind.

CURRICULUM FOCI

Ethnicity in Hockey focuses on the plight of visible minorities as well as newer immigrant cultures.
Women in Hockey pays tribute to the players and teams who helped popularize the female game.
Accessible Hockey delves into the variations of hockey played by those with physical disabilities, including hearing-impaired hockey associations and electric wheelchair hockey.
Marginalized People in Top Levels of Pro Hockey looks at pioneers who opened doors and paved the way for hockey players of different ethnicity, gender or sexual orientation.
